3D Modelling - Assignment 1

Assignment 1 is complete! I've explained the concept and story behind this idea in my previous work in progress post. Here it is in Google Earth, with a view of the digitized Sleeping Lady mountain (Mount Susitna) in the background!

A little bit of a closer view in Google Earth

Originally, I had drawn up my own texture for the model. It was a grainy grey texture, intended to look like concrete or granite. I found that it was too fine and small and, no matter what I did, wouldn't show up when importing the model into SketchUp. I played around with a couple different textures, and found that this marble one ended up fitting the best.

I don't have a whole lot else to say. I've already covered most of my thought process in another post, and by then the only thing I fiddled around with was the texture mapping. The model itself is sort of funky looking, but I find myself liking it like that. I think it's funky in a good way.
