Animation 2B - Concepts
I’ve recently had trouble sleeping, so I’ve been watching a lot mini wildlife documentaries, one YouTube channel in particular. Robert E. Fuller is a wildlife artist and conservationist who documents local wildlife, birds in particular, in the UK. Of the birds he documents, many are owls. Since I’ve been watching so many videos about them, I figured some owl characters would be quite fun to work with. Owls are oddly expressive and can be broken down into simpler shapes very well I think. Plus, a bird would lend itself very well to a flying sequence, which I enjoy the thought of.
I settled on a pair of barn owl siblings, one older and one still a little chick. As for their relationship, I’m picturing a very classic sibling dynamic, with the older being more independent and the younger trying to imitate their older sibling.
